Wordplay Wednesday was created when Jaycen started streaming on the Filipino livestreaming app called Kumu. Initially called "Songwriting Day", Wordplay Wednesday is a songwriting challenge where Jaycen writes a song on-the-spot using random words submitted by her viewers.

Wordplay Wednesday was officially launched on March 2020 when the world was in lockdown. Though it is called Wordplay Wednesday, some of the songs were not actually written on a Wednesday because there are times when Jaycen would challenge herself even more by doing the challenge for multiple days in a row (10 for 10, 12 for 12).

The current total number of Wordplay songs is 96 - nine of which are now officially released on all digital streaming platforms.
